Sophia Al - Maria's 'Black Friday'
For her first solo exhibition in the United States, Sophia Al-Maria tapped The Film House to help realize her Black Friday fever dreams. The show featured a 16 minute film (Black Friday) displayed vertically protruding from a mound of sand which was crawling with broken glass and 113 unique videos (Litany) on portable devices.
The show ran from July 26th to Oct 31st, 2016 at The Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City.
It was an absolute pleasure to work with the artist (and BFF of TFH). We look forward to producing more work together in the near future.
